What
is Carbon Footprint ? / Carbon Footprints?
Due
to the existing relation between the Co2 emission and
global warming, some governments have taken some
measures to try to stop the climate change. The result
of these measures was the Kyoto Protocol, an agreement
under which industrialized countries are committed
to reduce their collective emissions of greenhouse
gases like carbon dioxide, however, these gases can
be reduced even more if each person commits him or
herself to reduce carbon dioxide emission. One way
of doing it is analyzing and reducing their carbon
footprint.
The Carbon footprint
refers to the amount of CO2 emitted by a company or
a person when manufacturing or consuming a product.
Measured inCO2 tons, the carbon footprint shows us how
we contribute to climate change every time we eat, turn
on the light or buy clothes. As it shows the level of
development in each country, its value differs from country
to country, so for example, while an Indian ´s
carbon footprint is 1, 2 tons, an Australian’s
carbon footprint is 18 tons and of a Spanish person is
10.
In La Posta del Águila we believe that we can take care of the environment
by reducing CO2 emission, so during the last 5 years, we have been working with
the Carbon footprint, as a result we introduced new procedures to reduce energy,
among others, and recently we introduced new products that aim at reducing CO2
and optimizing our carbon footprint.
